This concept can sometimes sound technical, yet its foundation is beautifully simple. Genesis 1:1 tells us, “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” This divine origin extends to all creation. Humanity was uniquely made in the image of God and entrusted with stewardship over the world (Genesis 1:26–27). How often do we pause to reflect on who created our world and what our purpose is within it? When we consider the direction of our culture and personal lives, it is likely that many have drifted away from a biblical worldview.
Scripture teaches that all humanity is accountable to God and in need of redemption. We all fall short of God’s standard (Romans 3:23). Sin entered the world through humanity and has been passed down through every generation (Romans 5:12). Yet, God offers the greatest expression of love through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Through faith in Him, we are promised that we “shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).
For Christians—those saved by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8–9)—God calls His children to live according to His Word, the Bible. A biblical worldview shapes our values, beliefs, and actions by grounding them in Scripture and orienting our lives toward eternity in God’s Kingdom. It influences how we understand reality, how we respond to life’s challenges, and how we make decisions each day. It forms our understanding of truth and wisdom, as Scripture reminds us, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom” (Proverbs 9:10). This reverent awe of God helps us see life clearly and live faithfully.
God calls us to love Him wholeheartedly and to love others (Matthew 22:37–40). Believers are also called not to conform to the patterns of this world but to be transformed through the renewal of their minds so they can discern and follow God’s will (Romans 12:1–2).
A biblical worldview provides the lens through which we understand God, the world, and our place within it. It leads us to live intentionally, allowing Christ to guide our thoughts, actions, and relationships as we seek to love God and serve others. Let’s work to be God’s light when it is so desperately needed.
